Visual Language- Frame & Format

In this visual language session we had to convey a word by the arrangement of the letterforms. First we had to show how we could use 4 squares together to create the word visually and then create a square which would work individually.

Edit
i tried to show 'edit' by changing one factor, this being the type used in each square.

Jumble
i tried to show this by using a number of different types and sizes and arranging them in a random order.

Hybrid
i tried to create this by showing how two different types join and work with each other.

Extend
i created this word by using one typeface and gradually extended the space between the letters so they move further apart.

Disect
to show the word i started with a set of letters and cut it into 4 parts to show it being disected.

At the end of the session we had to swap places and guess which squares were which word.. it was interesting to see how other people expressed the word through type. Ohhh and even better somebody got all my squares right!
